The easiest outfit for Winter as we head in to Spring is a sweater, jeans and boots. I've mentioned this before and I can't tell you enough how fool proof this look is. Firstly, it's super easy to pick out in the morning. Secondly, you can throw on just about any sweater and make this look work. Lastly, it's cozy and comfortable (if you have the right boots). I've always liked a warm oversized sweater. I especially think oversized sweaters look amazing with skinny jeans and tall boots. Sometimes big sweaters can make you loose your shape, so with this look I did a little front tuck of the sweater so it wasn't too "billowy".
I'm sure most of us follow people we love on instagram. People who have a look we like, a style we love or people who enjoy doing things we like to do. A ton of the people I follow on instagram are lifestyle bloggers. I love seeing what people are up to & where the new "hot spots are". I came across cafe réveille on instagram months ago and put it on my San Francisco to-do list.
I hit up All Good Pizza while roaming around new parts of San Francisco this weekend. It is one of the cutest little outdoor pizza spots in Portola. This little trailer pizza shop is parked on a really awesome lot with plants and picnic benches everywhere. I just love how cute, chill and quiet it is I can't wait to go back on a warmer day with a big group of friends.
Wedding and Festival season are right around the corner & who doesn't love a good flower crown? I have always loved flower crowns, but assumed they were super complicated and hard to make. Wow, was I wrong. These things are so fun, so easy and quite more affordable to make than I thought.
I visited a store called Pigment this weekend while visiting San Diego and I fell in love. It seriously is one of the cutest stores I've ever stepped foot in. Whoever the buyer is for this shop and whoever created the design is someone I want to be friends with. It is so eclectic, yet clean and stylish. There is a place for everything, and it's set up to make you want to buy one of everything.
I'm in San Diego for my best friends bachelorette party and one of the places we knew we had to try was communal coffee. This place is one of a kind. It's half coffee shop, half flower shop and it is simply one of the cutest cafes around.
This recipe is by far the most popular recipe I've ever made. Every time I make these goodies someone asks me to share the recipe. It is my take on a "healthier" version of a chocolate peanut butter cup, with a crunch!
It's 2017, so I'm sure your hair dresser has told you by now it isn't good to wash your hair everyday. Thank you dry shampoo!! When you wash your hair you wash away most of your hairs natural oils. Those oils help your hair stay hydrated. strong and helps your hair grow. However, when you do wash your hair (you should every 2-3 days) be sure to use amazing products that cleanse your hair, but don't strip your hair.
This Jumpsuit spoke to me when my super stylish aunt was wearing it at a holiday party. I knew I had to have it. It's one of those things that's super different and out of the norm, but if you spin in the right way you can make it look fabulous. Let's be real you don't see a rose satin jumpsuit everyday. I went on a hunt for this one, and I'm so glad I found it!
I am the type of girl who loves having my hair done, but at the same time not too done. I actually really enjoy styling my (and my friends) hair and don't mind spending the time doing research on products and styles that will best suit me. Over the years I have tried TONS of products for styling. Creams, mousses, sprays, ,oils, you name it! I have a list that I would call my top favorites, but my everyday go-to's are these three products. They give me the best tousled and undone curls that I know will always look good.
As I've gotten older, I look back wishing I took better care of my skin growing up. The last few years I've started to take way better care of my skin and actually splurge a bit on my skin regime. My cousin works at a MedSpa and she introduced me to the line SkinMedica. She went on and on to why I needed these products in my life and she even gifted me a ton of stuff (best gift ever). SkinMedica is a line that is usally sold in medical offices only (aka this stuff is legit). All of their products are scientifically proven to work.
The first week I used them, I have to be honest, my skin began to purge and break out a bit. About a week later, my skin was super bright and some of the sunspots that I felt like I was starting to see, went away! I have a ton of products from them, but the ones I've listed below are the essentials! When I went to get a facial last month, my girl Carmen let me know that the products my cousin recommended are perfect, but also suggested I use a pre-cleanser. My friend Kate just started using a pre-cleanser that Jeffree Star recommended, so I went out to get it! Now I have a full routine before I go to bed.
Clinique made this AMAZING pre-cleanser and it has changed my life. Do you ever wash your face, then grab a towel and once you dry your face you see makeup on the towel? Well that happened to me a lot, but ever since I started pre-cleansing my face with Take The Day Off I haven't run in to that issue. It's absolutely amazing, and I now take it everywhere with me.
The facial cleanser is one that I think anyone can try out. I like how gentle it is, because lately my skin has been a bit sensitive (I can't exfoliate daily). I have used many gentle cleansers (Cetaphil & CeraVe) and truly haven't felt like they work for me. This cleanser is now my daily cleanser and I'm loving it.
SkinMedica created this award winning product Lytera as the gold standard for skin brightening. This product is known best for getting rid of dark spots and discoloration, but also for improving your skins texture. Lytera isn't cheap, but since I got Melasma (skin discoloration caused from taking birth control) it has gone away with the use of Lytera. I can't say how worth it this product is!
Every other day, I use AHA/BHA Cream with my lytera. AHA/BHA cream is the naturally found alpha-hydroxy acid (AHA) combined with beta-hydroxy acid (BHA) which helps exfoliate skin, reduce the appearance of wrinkles, and enhance skin texture. This stuff is a bit more affordable than Lytera, and is definitely a must!
This routine is one I have seen real results from and no I'm not getting paid to tell you this. I feel like the pre-cleanse and the cleanser prep my skin perfectly for the Lytera and the AHA/BHA Creams to do their jobs. Let me know if you get the chance to try these out!
One of my favorite things about my new neighborhood is that I am ridiculously close to the San Francisco Flower Mart. I can wake up, walk a few blocks down the road & buy a ton of flowers at a super low cost. I spent my day exploring and ended up finding some beautiful flowers at a great price.
I try new makeup all the time! I really enjoy testing out new products and finding the "winners". However, not all products are blog worthy. These items are ones I've been using for years and I have re-bought them time and time again. They are the products I most highly recommend.
When it comes to clothes, I have no shame in admitting (and sometimes professing) my favorite bargain finds. We all can benefit from saving money here and there. Marshalls, Nordstrom Rack, TJ Maxx anyone?! When I find an amazing item and it's on sale it's like hitting the jackpot. I'm sure you've had those moments too.
I just arrived back from a week long vacation. I am not going to lie, going from 85 degrees and sunny to 50's and raining was not the transition I was hoping for. However, I always try to look at the bright side coming back made me feel extra grateful I was able to get away with some of my favorite people for a bit AND it got me excited to slip in to one of my favorite sweaters.
YOU GUYS! I just spent the last week in Belize at the most beautiful resort called Victoria House with ten of the most amazing people. Let's just say, we rang in the New Year right! Ambergris Caye is a small island in Belize that is most known for it's beautiful beaches, amazing warm weather and water sports.
As we approach the New Year, I want to take a look back on some memorable times in 2016. My family and friends are all doing great. Lots of engagements, weddings and job promotions. I feel extremely blessed to have such amazing people in my life always encouraging me to shoot for the moon and supporting me through all of the changes I've had throughout the year.
I've been hearing a ton about a cute hole in the wall flower shop in the Mission District in San Francisco called Ampersand. Today I had the opportunity to check it out with my friend Shannon.
One of my favorite parts about living in San Francisco is how close it is to wine country. My friend Jenn had her birthday weekend in Healdsberg and invited some of her favorite girls. It was the perfect weekend to get together, relax a bit and drink some wine.
Yesterday was the day! We celebrated the launch of my new website and I had the best time hanging out with my closest friends and family. I couldn't have gotten to this place without all of of them always supporting me and encouraging me to follow my dreams.
