As I've gotten older, I look back wishing I took better care of my skin growing up. The last few years I've started to take way better care of my skin and actually splurge a bit on my skin regime. My cousin works at a MedSpa and she introduced me to the line SkinMedica. She went on and on to why I needed these products in my life and she even gifted me a ton of stuff (best gift ever). SkinMedica is a line that is usally sold in medical offices only (aka this stuff is legit). All of their products are scientifically proven to work.
The first week I used them, I have to be honest, my skin began to purge and break out a bit. About a week later, my skin was super bright and some of the sunspots that I felt like I was starting to see, went away! I have a ton of products from them, but the ones I've listed below are the essentials! When I went to get a facial last month, my girl Carmen let me know that the products my cousin recommended are perfect, but also suggested I use a pre-cleanser. My friend Kate just started using a pre-cleanser that Jeffree Star recommended, so I went out to get it! Now I have a full routine before I go to bed.
Clinique made this AMAZING pre-cleanser and it has changed my life. Do you ever wash your face, then grab a towel and once you dry your face you see makeup on the towel? Well that happened to me a lot, but ever since I started pre-cleansing my face with Take The Day Off I haven't run in to that issue. It's absolutely amazing, and I now take it everywhere with me.
The facial cleanser is one that I think anyone can try out. I like how gentle it is, because lately my skin has been a bit sensitive (I can't exfoliate daily). I have used many gentle cleansers (Cetaphil & CeraVe) and truly haven't felt like they work for me. This cleanser is now my daily cleanser and I'm loving it.
SkinMedica created this award winning product Lytera as the gold standard for skin brightening. This product is known best for getting rid of dark spots and discoloration, but also for improving your skins texture. Lytera isn't cheap, but since I got Melasma (skin discoloration caused from taking birth control) it has gone away with the use of Lytera. I can't say how worth it this product is!
Every other day, I use AHA/BHA Cream with my lytera. AHA/BHA cream is the naturally found alpha-hydroxy acid (AHA) combined with beta-hydroxy acid (BHA) which helps exfoliate skin, reduce the appearance of wrinkles, and enhance skin texture. This stuff is a bit more affordable than Lytera, and is definitely a must!
This routine is one I have seen real results from and no I'm not getting paid to tell you this. I feel like the pre-cleanse and the cleanser prep my skin perfectly for the Lytera and the AHA/BHA Creams to do their jobs. Let me know if you get the chance to try these out!
