This city is my favorite for so many reasons, but one of the big ones is the food and drink. New restaurants and shops open up weekly and I feel like there's always a place to go. I want to share with you my favorite coffee spots, brunch spots, dinner spots and places to hit up for good cocktails
Twenty eight was the year of learning for me. I look back and am in awe of how much i've emotionally matured in the last 365 days. I went through some ups and downs and have learned so much. I want to share some of my biggest learnings..
Holiday parties are so fun to dress up for. I just love getting all dolled up, slipping on a fun outfit and dancing the night away. I have been trying to be better about not shopping too much (trying is the key word) and I have been putting myself on a budget.
This dress may have actually whispered "buy me" when I walked by it in the store. Maybe I'm crazy, but this bad boy needed me and I needed it. Isn't this the most perfect taupe beige and the most fun cut? It's by far my favorite Fall item i've purchased this year.
What you really need in your life this year are the perfect basics. Yes, keepin' it simple. To be honest, most of my closet is filled with basics that I love & from there I just layer fun things with it. My must-haves for this season are high waist light wash ripped jeans, black booties and a black turtle neck.
Do you recognize this jumpsuit? Well, it's likely because you've seen me wear it a ton throughout the Summer. I wore it out to dinner on vacation, to a friends wedding and to a birthday party. When I buy something nice, I want to make sure I can get my use out of it. I paired what was marketed as a summer jumpsuit, with a turtle neck and immediately got a whole new outfit from this piece.
You guys know I'm obsessed with jumpsuits, but did you know I also have a real obsession for culottes as well? There's nothing more amazing than being able to dress up and still be comfortable. Sorry, but I can't lie to you all. I can't last a night in stilettos or a bandage dress. It's just not my jam. I want to feel confident, comfortable & still super stylish when I go out. These culottes are one of my holiday staples.
Thanksgiving is just a few days away you guys. I have a Friendsgiving to head to and a big family Thanksgiving dinner at my parents house this week. One of my favorite things about the holidays is the fashion. On my moms side of the family, the ladies are SO fashionable. Last year my aunt walked in the door with a silk jumpsuit and a faux-fur coat. My other aunt is a huge thrifter, so she always shows off her designer steals styled from head-to-toe. My cousin Caity is also super fashion-forward and always has a new knit sweater, leather legging or bag to show off.
I am newly obsessed with Boba, specifically Boba Guys in SF. My friend Tamryn (@wannabefashionblogger) blogs about them all the time and raves about how amazing and delicious it is. I had to try it for myself & when I tried her signature drink, I was like... ok I get it. She gets the Iced Matcha Latte (with OatMylk, boba, and no sweetener) & this stuff is crack. I swear you'll have to try it for yourself, it's that good!
There's nothing like the weather getting cooler & a little crisp, prepping for all the fun holiday events coming your way & finishing up your final deadlines at work. Isn't there just really something special about knowing that in just a few days you'll get the chance to spend some quality time to celebrate and relax with friends and family? Today I woke up, got a coffee (and a waffle) & took some time to plan out my holiYAYs.
Thanksgiving is right around the corner, can you believe it's just 10 days away? What better way to dress for the holiday than in something Fall-ish & comfortable. Jumpsuits have been my go-to holiday outfit choice for a few years now for a few major reasons. Jumpsuits are usually very breathable (eat the cake & say no to corsets). I love that there are so many styles out now that you can find that flatter YOUR body. I also just love that they are an entire outfit in one (no need to buy separates).
Have you ever seen someone's hair and just been in awe by how perfect it looks. Full, voluminous & sexy. I know I have always been obsessed with hair since I was a kid, wondering what techniques and products people used to make their hair look so fab. Well I'm about to share a few of my tricks with you to get nice full undone and messy waves.
Last year, my Grandma came up to me on Christmas and asked an important question. She wondered, "Your aunt let me know turtlenecks are not in style. Should I toss all of them?". I let her know, like any style, it's likely they will be "in" again soon. BOOM, fast forward to this year they are back in full swing. I think the last 3 things i've purchased are mock neck or a full turtle neck.
Bye bye Summer sun spots, it's Fall! I researched the best stuff and made sure to pick up my favorite Dr. Dennis Gross products. This C+ collagen deep cream with Vitamin C & collagen amino acids helps brighten, hydrate and smooth your complexion. Sign me up! I've talked a ton about getting Melasma (sun spots) on my face from taking birth control. I've found that lightening products have been a godsend and have helped diminish these spots.
Happy Wine Wednesday y'all. I hope you can grab a bottle of wine to help you get over the hump-day blues. I have a bottle chilling in my fridge right now and I can't wait to pop it open tonight. If you follow me on social media you know I drink Winc wine all the time. Today, I wanted to share with you why I love them so much.
I found saw blonde hoodie by Brunette The Label and had to have it. There's nothing like having the perfect cropped hoodie in your closet. You can wear it with workout clothes to the gym, around town running errands or to work on a casual day. This hoodie is the softest thing & I swear every time I wear it, someone stops me asking me where I got it.
I've decided I'm going to really try my best to not try and "keep up with the Jones' " and start being smarter with my purchases. This starts with re-wearing clothes you've all seen me wear & just start to style them differently. We would be silly to not wear clothes a second time around if we love them. Who cares if someone photographed you wearing it online already.
Fall is here! As I mentioned in my last post, all my sweaters have come out of hiding. The weird thing is, San Francisco has been super warm lately. I have been able to leave the house all week without a jacket, which to me, is rare! I bought this amazing shift dress the other week planning on wearing it with boots for Fall. I decided I couldn't wait until it gets cold, so I styled it with sandals and a hat to draw out summer as long as I can.
The leaves are beginning to fall and the mornings are crisp and cool. It's Fall and there's nothing more I like this time of year than waking up in my cozy bed, coffee brewing, and throwing on my one of my favorite Fall outfits. As soon as the weather starts to change I immediately pull out and line up my favorite long sleeve tops, jackets and sweaters. This year, I am all about the plaid tops with embroidered details & colorful anoraks to add some flavor to my outfits.
These #OldNavyStyle items are the perfect essentials for Fall. I chose these, because I can easily mix and match them with a ton of other outfits. This Jacket would also be perfect with this swing dress and tennies. The Top would be amazing wrapped around your waist with this slim fitting t-shirt dress. These jeans that I'm wearing are just perfection and go with just about everything. Lastly, the shoes are super comfy and can easily be dressed up or down. I just love that all of the items I'm wearing are so versatile.
When you have the staple pieces you need, the options are endless. #SayHi to my Fall favorites, go grab yourself a pumpkin spice latte and get yourself cozy and bundled up for Fall.
