well, i’ve been here in austin over a month and i’m loving it so far. i want to share my top reasons with you as of now being one month in. it’s been a serious whirlwind, but i’ve learned a lot in a short amount of time…
spring is here and that means fun sunday boozy brunches! san francisco is a big brunch city and austin has been no different. there are so many delicious and affordable brunch options here in austin. if you’re ever in town be sure you swing by irene’s for a boozy brunch, the menu is to die for to enjoy with a big group.
one of the most common questions i get is what my favorite swimsuits are. well that’s such a loaded question, because there are so so many cute swimsuits out there that i absolutely adore. i have sporty suits, sexy suits, one pieces, bikinis and the list goes on! what i want to do for you today is share my favorites by category. i’ll be linking my favorite one pieces, high waisted bikinis as well as low rise bikinis & my favorite plus size swimsuits.
though the blogger world can sometimes be filled up with designer purses, fancy high heels & pretty dresses, my day to day looks a lot more like this. i work at a tech company where the environment is super casual. when i’m out running errands on the weekend, there’s no way you’ll see me all done up.
WOW! it actually is starting to feel real now. i’m sitting at the airport and it’s starting to hit me. SF is no longer my home. i have a one way ticket to a new place and am going to throw myself in to this new city and eat up all it has to offer (literally and figuratively). san francisco is home and i feel like will always be home, but sometimes life throws you sign after sign that you just cannot ignore.
as many of you know i’m taking a chance on myself & moving my life to a new state. i’m sticking with the same company, but switching teams at work supporting our austin team. it’s sort of funny how things fell in to place, but i believe in the quote “trust the timing of your life” more than ever. i’m someone who’s always trusted my gut, but this opportunity couldn’t have come at a better time.
is anyone else like me where you wake up motivated & start your day with the healthiest breakfast and lunch, but when you’re on the go throughout the day you run out of healthy options and end up eating junk? i know myself and as silly as it sounds the quote , “if you fail to prepare, you are preparing to fail” rings so true to me. if i don’t plan out my snacks and my food for the day, it usually takes a downhill turn and i eat junk food. always having healthy snacks on hand has become my saving grace.
oh valentine’s day, we meet again. i’m not one to hate on valentine’s day, don’t get me wrong i think it’s an amazing day for couples to get together and share their love. i just think me and most of my friends are in a weird space in our lives where it feels weird. there are so many expectations put on valentine’s day, and so many people end up sad or disappointed. that’s by no means how i want anyone to feel on a day that should be filled with love and appreciation.

girl, let me tell you- i am all about those inspirational, feel good, feel empowered books that give you the confidence to take on the world. i love reading and feeling inspired. learning from someones story & applying it to my life. with that, i have some suggestions on my favorite non-fiction, get shit done & feel good doing it kinda books. as i pack for vacation i realize how great my line up is!
let’s be real, we’ve all planned a trip at some point and told ourselves we were going to stay healthy while traveling & then get to where we are going and the plans to stay healthy go out the door. well, you aren’t alone. we’ve all been there. i’m heading on a trip in just a few weeks and i have a few little tips that work for me to stay active & not completely go off the rails.
i want to note that i am not a proponent of dieting or having the mindset of “if i workout, then i can eat this or that”. my whole reason for staying on track while traveling is so i don’t feel like crap when i come home. i typically plan to eat more deserts and drink more alcohol, so i just want to make sure i continue to move my body and not eat bad for every meal. as i head to belize this coming week i want to share my tips i live by:
i have an extremly exciting announcement today ! i’m moving (grabs biggest belt buckle and cowboy boots out of my closet), to austin, texas!!! yes, you heard me right. this california native is packing her life up and moving more than 1,500 miles away to the lone star state. i absolutely adore san francisco, it’s been my home for more than 6 years now and it’s been a place where i was able to immensely grow both personally and professionally. in sf i’ve met some of the most amazing human beings and friends i could ever dream of having in my life, i’ve explored all of the best spots the city has to offer & i leave with so much gratitude for this magical place.
wearing this skirt a little different today. it’s the perfect color for fall and winter, and i decided to pair it with something i haven’t worn since i was a kid. tights haven’t been in my wardrobe again until this year and i can’t get enough. tights with tall boots have been my jam & it turns this look from a warm weather to cool weather look with just one swap!
bye bye 2018, hello 2019! can you believe it’s 2019? i really do guess time flies when you’re having fun! or is it i’m just getting old? whatever it is, i’m excited for a new year. i’m not one for new years resolutions, because i’ve begun to believe that you shouldn’t wait for the start of a new year to start working towards your goals. i do, however, feel like it’s the perfect time to reflect on all you’ve accomplished, gone through, learned and grown from over the past year. here’s a bit of what I learned in 2018.
i bought myself the first skirt last year that i had bought in years. when i finally wore it out, i was so surprised i got so many compliments on my legs and people telling me i should wear skirts more often. in SF the weather is pretty cold and there isn’t much opportunity to wear skirts. i never have thought much about showing my legs off, because i always just thought my legs look like my dads (he’s a cyclist). i’ve always known i have his strong legs (my sister does too), but we’ve always thought we have his “thunder thighs”. not to be shown off in a short skirt.
you’ve seen this skirt on me before. it’s because i’m completely obsessed and wear it any chance i get. blank nyc kills the skirt game and i just can’t get enough. i have this skirt in not one but two colors AND i just bought a similar one from them in another color. you see, i only share with you guys things i really am obsessed with.

today i turn thirty and it’s not as scary as i imagined it may be. i’ve learned a lot (especially over the last few years) and i wanted to share 30 really important things i’ve learned in my 30 years:
loving yourself is the most important thing, learning to truly love yourself takes time and you should constantly be working on it
listening to podcasts frequently is great for constant passive learning, when you’re grocery shopping, sitting in an uber, walking to work, etc. It’s really helped me stay motivated.
making time for your workouts should be a priority- if you put others time before “me time” it will hurt you in the long run. working out helps clear my mind, keep me energized and de-stressed.
