We’re engaged!

Wow it feels so surreal saying I have a fiancé, but WOW it’s true. I’ll hold off from boring you all and get straight in to the good stuff… so how’d it happen?

Saturday was like any normal day. We woke up, worked out, made breakfast, went on a walk and lounged around until we had to get ready for the evening. I thought Jeremy and I were heading to grab a drink at a new spot near Zilker Park with our friends Ryan and Bri before grabbing dinner with them nearby.

As we were almost to our destination Jeremy said, “Hey, we’re going to drive past the drop off spot, but just go with it. I suggest you trust me on this”. I obviously didn’t trust him on that and got sassy, “that sounds more like a demand, not a suggestion”. LOL

We drove for about 1-2 more minutes past the destination & stopped at Zilker park. Of course, I was like wait.. is this happening? I looked around and saw nothing out in the park, so then thought.. maybe not? I’m confused. Was he acting weird today? No. Has he acted weird this week? No. Hmmm maybe I’m just in my head.

I saw a picnic bench set up in the distance, but there was nothing on it. I looked around for friends or a sign or something, nothing. Then a few seconds later the whole world stopped.

Jeremy grabbed my hand, turned me towards him & said “I knew from the moment I met you…..” honestly the rest was a blur. I don’t remember anything else, but I knew what he was doing and I said yes. The easiest yes.

I immediately started crying and then within seconds I saw Divina (photographer) snapping pics. Seconds after that our friends rushed down past a hill that they were all hiding behind. Friends from New York, California, all over Texas, Colorado & Washington. I was so so overwhelmed I couldn’t believe it. I’ve never been so surprised in my life I was in shock the entire rest of the day.

We all popped champagne, did a toast and took some photos together. I only later found out that the picnic table I mentioned earlier was supposed to be a whole picnic table set up, but it was too darn windy they scratched that idea.

After the park, some of our friends joined us as we went to a nearby restaurant to grab drinks (the place I originally thought I was heading to that day). We then followed with a dinner (the restaurant I thought I was going to dinner at) with Jeremy’s family and mine.

After dinner we rejoined celebrating with friends at Eberly in Austin and spent the night living it up with people who came from all over.

It was truly the absolute perfect engagement I could’ve imagined. I had absolutely no clue what Jeremy had up his sleeve & I’m so so incredibly grateful for all our amazing friends and family who made our engagement so extremely special.

BEST. DAY. EVER.
