Before I got engaged, I knew changing up my routine would be necessary & I wanted to look my best, but at the same time while you’re budgeting, emailing, planning, coordinating you ALSO have do everything I can to make sure my skin is GLOWING and blemish free on wedding day? It began to become a little overwhelming.

That’s why, along with my girls Ali Patek (@aestheticnurseali) & Lindsey (@skintheorist_lindsey), I'm sharing everything we did to prep my skin for wedding day. I planned my wedding in plenty of time a year and a half, but we didn’t really kick things in to high gear until 6 months before

Step 1: get on a medical grade skincare routine, game changing to assist with your tone, texture & complexion. Ali can recommend some amazing products for you.

Step 2: find an incredible clinic (hi, Ali & Lindsey at SkinSpirit) who will assist and educate you on all the treatments that could benefit you on wedding day without overselling. Note: I've been going to Ali for a little over 2 years and truly feel like she knows her stuff!

The Details: It's important to note that these are a combination of treatments that Ali & Lindsey put together as my ultimate glowing skin treatment; there's really no name for it. Talk to your esthetician about them individually and how they will benefit your skin as a whole. The best part about each of them: THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NO DOWN TIME!

BOTOX/DYSPORT:

Leading up to my wedding I got botox every 3-4 months mainly around my forehead, eyes & frown lines. This treatment truly helped my lines stay minimal and my makeup glide right over my skin.

DIAMOND GLOW:

A DiamondGlow™ treatment simultaneously exfoliates, extracts and infuses. Here’s how: Using a diamond tip wand, DiamondGlow helps to exfoliate dead skin cells while pulling impurities out of pores for a deep clean. Simultaneously, it infuses the skin with a corrective serum tailored to your specific needs – whether that be to clarify acne-prone skin, for extra hydration, or anti-aging. The result? I felt my skin will appeared brighter, clearer, and more even in tone. I see Lindsey for these at SkinSpirit

DERMAPLANING

Dermaplaning is an exfoliating facial treatment. Using a gentle blade, the layers of rough, dull and damaged skin, are manually removed, instantly. In the process, unwanted facial hair that sits above the epidermis is removed as well, preventing it from growing back in thicker. I paired this with my diamond glow for the treatment to work a little faster, also amazing to do 2-3 days before your wedding to rid “peach fuzz” and for your makeup to glide on like glass skin.

LED TREATMENTS:

Color Light Therapy that uses four clinically proven wavelengths of UV-free LED lights to boost collagen production and treat existing acne. This has been a game changer for my acne over the last two years. If you're struggling with mild acne I cannot suggest it enough. My cousin lent me her device & I was so grateful to use this one for the 3 months ahead of my wedding.

I can 100% say that during my wedding weekend my skin + face looked and felt the BEST it ever has. Once we got our wedding pictures I noticed it even more, especially since I've obviously cut back on my skincare regimen since wedding days.

The reality is a treatment regimen like this takes a ton of commitment and is not cheap. Is it worth it? Yes! We did a combination of most of the above every month and it took about 1 hour each time. As someone who has struggled with acne, ESPECIALLY during stressful times, all I wanted was to be blemish free and glowing for my wedding.

In regards to pricing, it honestly varies by skincare specialist and location. My suggestion is to find someone you trust who won't try to up-sell you on treatments you don't really need. Be honest about your wedding skincare goals and prioritize treatments based off that. If I had to pick two of the 5 treatments I listed above I would go with the botox and medical grade skincare. Bride to be or not, this helped my skin so drastically & I am so grateful for Ali
