Loving my curves is something that's taken me a while to get used to. When I was younger I was a string bean and it wasn't until my Junior/Senior years of High School when I started getting curves. Year by year my body was turning from a little girls to a woman's and that sh&% was weird! I didn't know how to dress this new body of mine. If I wore a tank top people would continuously comment on my boobs & it made me super uncomfortable.
It is that time of year (especially in San Francisco) when I have to start pulling out my favorite jackets and long sleeve tops to keep warm. We are starting to transition in to Fall and there is no better way to start that transition then by getting new fun new digs. Who doesn't love themselves a modern Canadian tuxedo?
Am I the only one who has a hard time finding a cute watch that doesn't kill the vibe of my entire outfit? Fitbit's are awesome, but not stylish in the slightest. Apple watches are cool, but I don't want a bright computer buzzing at me all day. Most other watches I've seen tend to look cheap or a bit cheesy in my opinion- too much cheap gold, or way too flashy. To be honest, I've bought a few types of watches in the past, that I just never end up wearing. The main reason being the way they look with my outfits, nothing ever went well with my clothes. This month, I finally found a watch that I'm pretty stoked on.
When I was in Orange County visiting my friends Sammie and Sheila, my great friend and photographer Shannon Righetti was there as well. I told my friends we had to do a shoot with Shannon, no questions. They've seen Shannon's work on my blog and immediately accepted.
Hello from Maui! We've been here about a week, and leave town tomorrow. It's my first time to Hawaii & has been one of the most amazing and relaxing trips i've been on. I'm here with three other girls staying at the Marriot Ocean Club in Kaanapali.
I got to spend forth of July weekend in Newport Beach and man was it one amazing holiday weekend. I got to see so many of my favorite people and do a ton of fun things with them. We ate, drank, and explored our was through OC. If you didn't already know, I went to college in Orange County so some of my absolute best friends still live there.
The West Coast Craft Fair made it's way through San Francisco & I was so excited to check it out. This was one huge craft fair filled with artists, designers and creatives. There were booths filled with cool clothes, jewelry, wall art, rugs, pottery, you name it!
The other week I was on a walk and I peeked in to this little taqueria on the corner and I feel like I wandered in to a hidden gem,Mestiza Taqueria in SOMA, San Francisco. Can we talk about this pink wall with pink trim? It's so fun & the cacti next to it just is the icing on the cake for me.
If you haven't already noticed, I have been crazy about adding a crop tee under my tank tops lately. I know you've seen them up on my blog, but I can't get enough of this look so I just keep re-inventing it. One of the main reasons I love this look (besides just being super cute) is that it allows me to be modest and cover up my chest. Combining tops like this makes my tanks work friendly, baby shower friendly and just all in all makes me feel more comfortable when I leave the house. I don't know if you're like me, but since I have a big chest I try to not bring a ton of attention to it.
Do you ever look in to your closet and think, "I have nothing to wear"? Well you aren't alone. I think this all the time. When I buy something new I tend to wear it until I'm tired of it and then move on to something else. Lately, I've been trying to grab things I haven't worn in a bit and pair them with an unlikely match. Hence, this wild outfit I have on here.
I had the chance to partner with Anthropologie San Francisco to do a dfun little styled shoot. Amy Webster styled me and picked out this awesome look. I love love loved everything she pulled for me. Funny enough she pulled for me this jean jacket that I actually already own and was wearing to the shoot.
For those who know me, this is no surprise to you. I am frekin' obsessed with jumpsuits, playsuits, rompers & even overalls. I am always on the hunt for the perfect one piece to wear out. I especially love wearing them in the summer. Last year, I bought my first romper from Show Me Your Mumu & I was hooked by the brand.
I am so obsessed with kimono's right now and this one I just had to get. It was less than $50 and I know I will wear it all the time. One I love about kimonos is how versatile they are. This look I just decided to throw it on top of a tank, shorts and paired it with a cute hat.
One thing that I tell everyone who asks fashion advice is to build out their basics (read post here). Once you've got clothes that fit well & you have your wardrobe built out with the necessities, you can start having fun. This outfit is super simple. Nothing crazy, but I got a ton of compliments because of one thing. If I wore jeans instead of a skirt this outfit would work, but it wouldn't have any UMPH.
The Bay Area never ceases to amaze me with all of it's beauty. I have lived here most of my life & I seem to be able to discover stunning places I've never been to all the time. I just went to The Ruth Bancroft Garden in Walnut Creek & I was WOWED by the beauty of all the desert plants.
Whenever I read a 7x7 article of a new restaurant opening up in San Francisco, nine times out of ten I want to try it. I literally have a list of restaurants I want to try in this awesome city, but since new ones pop up so frequently it is hard to tackle them all. This week, I checked another off my list. I stopped by the new Cuban Restaurant called Media Noche in the Mission.
Although I didn't go to Coachella this year, seeing the fun festival fashion definitely gives me a bit of inspiration. Looking at cute, summery and sometimes outlandish outfits get my creative juices flowing. I am the type of person who sees a shirt I like on a hanger & I envision it with multiple things in my closet. How I can dress it up, dress it down and where I can take it.
This is something I've wanted to post about for years, but never had the courage to on social media. Social media is a funny place- it's a place where we share all the highlights of our lives, but tend to try to hide the not so glamorous times. Social media is also a place that glorifies fit bodies and shames people who don't look "perfect".
I really feel like every girl needs a leather jacket- especially if you live in a city. Whether it be faux leather, really nice leather or just a hand-me-down leather jacket- we all need a go-to.
If you haven't checked out Flora Grubb Gardens you are definitely missing out on one of the cutest places in the city. I discovered this place on instagram when I saw a really cool photo of this wall stacked with colorful tables and chairs. When I started looking in to it, I noticed, it wasn't just a cool spot to sip on some Ritual Coffee ( one of my faves), but a place to buy plants & make cool arrangements.
