There's nothing like a curve hugging outfit that makes you feel gone with the wild FABULOUS! When I got this bodysuit in the mail from http://www.tobi.com I was feelin' like the 2017 version of Sandy from Grease. Not only was that one of my favorite movies growing up, but when Olivia Newton-John walked out in her skin tight outfit feeling all sorts of confident I had a major girl crush moment.
I'm enjoying the last few days of summer roaming around the city peeking in to my favorite shops & trying to make sure I stop to smell the roses. If you're a city girl like me, you know there's nothing like the combination of a comfy shift dress & sneakers. When you walk everywhere, you have to make sure you're comfortable, but also looking fly.
It's the warmest time of year in San Francisco right now. If you've ever visited, you know it's pretty chilly about 85% of the year. We get some warm days and September happens to be our warmest month. It's the one month where you can get away with going outside in a tank top and not have to bring your jacket.
It is that time of year (especially in San Francisco) when I have to start pulling out my favorite jackets and long sleeve tops to keep warm. We are starting to transition in to Fall and there is no better way to start that transition then by getting new fun new digs. Who doesn't love themselves a modern Canadian tuxedo?
Am I the only one who has a hard time finding a cute watch that doesn't kill the vibe of my entire outfit? Fitbit's are awesome, but not stylish in the slightest. Apple watches are cool, but I don't want a bright computer buzzing at me all day. Most other watches I've seen tend to look cheap or a bit cheesy in my opinion- too much cheap gold, or way too flashy. To be honest, I've bought a few types of watches in the past, that I just never end up wearing. The main reason being the way they look with my outfits, nothing ever went well with my clothes. This month, I finally found a watch that I'm pretty stoked on.
Hello from Maui! We've been here about a week, and leave town tomorrow. It's my first time to Hawaii & has been one of the most amazing and relaxing trips i've been on. I'm here with three other girls staying at the Marriot Ocean Club in Kaanapali.
If you haven't already noticed, I have been crazy about adding a crop tee under my tank tops lately. I know you've seen them up on my blog, but I can't get enough of this look so I just keep re-inventing it. One of the main reasons I love this look (besides just being super cute) is that it allows me to be modest and cover up my chest. Combining tops like this makes my tanks work friendly, baby shower friendly and just all in all makes me feel more comfortable when I leave the house. I don't know if you're like me, but since I have a big chest I try to not bring a ton of attention to it.
Do you ever look in to your closet and think, "I have nothing to wear"? Well you aren't alone. I think this all the time. When I buy something new I tend to wear it until I'm tired of it and then move on to something else. Lately, I've been trying to grab things I haven't worn in a bit and pair them with an unlikely match. Hence, this wild outfit I have on here.
I had the chance to partner with Anthropologie San Francisco to do a dfun little styled shoot. Amy Webster styled me and picked out this awesome look. I love love loved everything she pulled for me. Funny enough she pulled for me this jean jacket that I actually already own and was wearing to the shoot.
For those who know me, this is no surprise to you. I am frekin' obsessed with jumpsuits, playsuits, rompers & even overalls. I am always on the hunt for the perfect one piece to wear out. I especially love wearing them in the summer. Last year, I bought my first romper from Show Me Your Mumu & I was hooked by the brand.
I am so obsessed with kimono's right now and this one I just had to get. It was less than $50 and I know I will wear it all the time. One I love about kimonos is how versatile they are. This look I just decided to throw it on top of a tank, shorts and paired it with a cute hat.
One thing that I tell everyone who asks fashion advice is to build out their basics (read post here). Once you've got clothes that fit well & you have your wardrobe built out with the necessities, you can start having fun. This outfit is super simple. Nothing crazy, but I got a ton of compliments because of one thing. If I wore jeans instead of a skirt this outfit would work, but it wouldn't have any UMPH.
Although I didn't go to Coachella this year, seeing the fun festival fashion definitely gives me a bit of inspiration. Looking at cute, summery and sometimes outlandish outfits get my creative juices flowing. I am the type of person who sees a shirt I like on a hanger & I envision it with multiple things in my closet. How I can dress it up, dress it down and where I can take it.
I really feel like every girl needs a leather jacket- especially if you live in a city. Whether it be faux leather, really nice leather or just a hand-me-down leather jacket- we all need a go-to.
The easiest outfit for Winter as we head in to Spring is a sweater, jeans and boots. I've mentioned this before and I can't tell you enough how fool proof this look is. Firstly, it's super easy to pick out in the morning. Secondly, you can throw on just about any sweater and make this look work. Lastly, it's cozy and comfortable (if you have the right boots). I've always liked a warm oversized sweater. I especially think oversized sweaters look amazing with skinny jeans and tall boots. Sometimes big sweaters can make you loose your shape, so with this look I did a little front tuck of the sweater so it wasn't too "billowy".
This Jumpsuit spoke to me when my super stylish aunt was wearing it at a holiday party. I knew I had to have it. It's one of those things that's super different and out of the norm, but if you spin in the right way you can make it look fabulous. Let's be real you don't see a rose satin jumpsuit everyday. I went on a hunt for this one, and I'm so glad I found it!
When it comes to clothes, I have no shame in admitting (and sometimes professing) my favorite bargain finds. We all can benefit from saving money here and there. Marshalls, Nordstrom Rack, TJ Maxx anyone?! When I find an amazing item and it's on sale it's like hitting the jackpot. I'm sure you've had those moments too.
I just arrived back from a week long vacation. I am not going to lie, going from 85 degrees and sunny to 50's and raining was not the transition I was hoping for. However, I always try to look at the bright side coming back made me feel extra grateful I was able to get away with some of my favorite people for a bit AND it got me excited to slip in to one of my favorite sweaters.
Fall is becoming one of my favorite seasons. In San Francisco it's pretty warm and sunny during the day, but cool and crisp in the mornings and evenings. Just how I like it. Fall has always been my favorite season to dress for. Booties and sweaters are my jam. I think every girl needs a pair of boots she loves and an awesome go-to sweater. Here are some of my current sweater obsessions for this season.
