it's wine wednesday ya'll! if you know me you know i love wine. it's my go to drink & living in the bay area it's the perfect place to be for good wine. i now want to talk a little bit about my favorite wineries to head to in wine country, because your girl has been to so many i want to spare you the bad spots. if you're heading there you can now go straight to the fun ones.
napa
domaine carneros
my hands down favorite place in napa to go for bubbles. this spot isn't a place you go for a wine tour, this is a place you get dressed up for, sit on the patio and sip. i love getting a sparkling wine flight with a charcuterie plate to start off a day of wine tasting. it's also super gorgeous and "instagrammable", so be sure you show up dressed to impressed. no reservations are usually needed at this spot.
ashes and diamonds
ashes and diamonds is a brand new winery that recently opened in Napa. It's modern flair reminds me so much of the 70's. my favorite part about this winery is how chill and spacious it is (it's the perfect spot to have a picnic). be sure you go ready to nibble and order from the waiters recommendations (for sure try their bread, it's homemade and delicious). my favorite wine of theirs is the rosé, so perfect on a warm day.
sonoma
scribe winery
scribe is the hip place to go right now. when you pull up, it's like your headed to someones house, but then you realize the epic view and just can't wait to sit on their picnic tables with your friends. my favorite wine from scribe is their pinot noir.
larson family winery
this place was so so fun. it's a more relaxed feel and perfect for a picnic. if you have a big group, this is your spot (or if you have kids). there's tons of games & plenty of grassy areas to hang out. i'd say it's the perfect last stop of the day, to hangout in the sunshine.
st. helena
brasswood
out of all the wineries i'm reviewing today, this one is for sure the coolest experience. it's one of the wineries, you want a full tour of. they have the absolute coolest interior design and architecture. when i toured the cellar it was really interesting and informative, we even got to go in to the lab which was especially fun! i also love that they have a cute mini coffee shop/bakery that's perfect to hit up before you drive home
hall wine
this place is also decorated by my favorite SF interior designer. it's gorgeous, bright and HUGE. They have so many facets of this winery, you could spend hours there. this is a stop i'd recommend if you love a good red, they are known for their cabernet's.
terra valentine
want one of my favorite red's? go here! seriously the terra valentine was introduced to me by my friend rachel, and it's so good. if your in saint helena, stock up- these bottles are hard to find! be sure you call ahead to see if you can taste!
healdsberg
macrostie
i went here for a friends birthday & i'll never forget the moment we arrived (in a limo). we all jumped out and the view took our breathe away. we then freaked out and started screaming and making our way in to the vineyard. check out the views for yourself on their website i love the open concept floor plan and how airy it is there. be sure you sit outside, and be sure to try their sauvignon blanc and cheese board.
la crema
la crema makes my favorite chardonnay- it's so buttery and delicious. it's seriously so awesome that their wine is made this close to home. their winery is pretty cool too! they have a barn style house that they do tastings on all levels. seriously, try their chardonnay.
geyserville
coppola pools
when you need to cool off from the heat, the coppola pools are the place to go. they book out reservations WAY in advance, but if you can get a spot(or a day pass) this place is a must. bring a few girlfriends & they greet you with some of their sophia sparkling wine. chill by the pool, drink, eat lunch & be merry. this is the perfect place to celebrate a birthday or girls weekend in the sunshine.
