What To Eat & Drink in San Francisco

This city is my favorite for so many reasons, but one of the big ones is the food and drink. New restaurants and shops open up weekly and I feel like there's always a place to go. I want to share with you my favorite coffee spots, brunch spots, dinner spots and places to hit up for good cocktails

But first, coffee

Philz

Philz is by far my favorite coffee spot in SF. I go almost everyday and they are spread out all over town. My favorite drink to get is the ecstatic iced coffee. If it's your first time going you should try the Tesora (my hot coffee favorite) or the Iced Mint Mojito.

Saint Frank

Saint Frank in Russian Hill is a close second to Philz for me. The positive of going here, is they have latte's. My go-to is their homemade Almond-Macadamia Mylk Latte. They also have a honey-lavender latte that is bomb.com

Ritual

If you're near the Mission or Hayes Valley, Ritual has amazing lattes. I just get a normal latte and their espresso is really rich and delicious

Blue Bottle

If you head to town you have to stop by blue bottle, I particularly love the SOMA & Ferry Building locations. I am a huge fan of both their lattes and drip coffee's. While you're there, be sure you grab a homemade (Belgian style) waffle. So delish!

Wrecking Ball Coffee Roasters

Want a super cute "instagrammable place", be sure you check out Wrecking Ball in the Marina. They have pineapple wall paper all over the walls and the cutest little tables outside to plop yourself and people watch. I get their almond milk latte and it doesn't disappoint.

Boba Guys

Okay I know it's not coffee, but Boba Guys deserved to make it on this list. If you're willing to try a different form of caffeine, you've gotta try this spot. People are going crazy over it & i'm sure you will to. My favorite drink is the matcha latte with almond milk and boba. They have such a cool menu with a variety of flavors & add ons. Check out their super interesting menu here.

Brunch

Park Tavern

I couldn't decide if I wanted to add Park Tavern on dinner or brunch, because both are amazing. They do have my favorite brunch in the city. You have to try their avocado toast, their deviled eggs and the coffee cake for starters. They will not disappoint. For main dishes, the crispy polenta cakes makes me seriously drool just thinking about them & their cast iron eggs are to die for too. You are safe to order anything on the menu, i've never had a bad meal here.

Flores

In the mood for a good mexican brunch? Flores in the marina has some good stuff. I also love that going there it makes it socially acceptable to have a margarita before noon (just saying). This place is so cute and the food it so good (homemade tortillas -yes please!).

Serpentine

Serpentine in the Dogpatch has a huge brunch menu from roasted salmon benedict, to delicious avocado toast, and even truffles with poached egg and grits. This is a must-try spot in an upcoming neighborhood, the dogpatch is getting filled up with new shops and restaurants. This location is in an old warehouse and has a super cool layout and charm.

Dinner

State Bird Provisions

State Bird is one of those spots where i've never had a bad meal. Every single thing on the menu seems to be the best thing i've ever had. If you can get a reservation, you have to try this place. It's one of those bucket list restaurants. I would go in and ask the waiter what to order & go from there.

Marlowe

I am so lucky to live right by Marlowe. First off, no questions asked you have to start with a starter. I could go here and just eat apps- the brussel sprout chips, oysters, bone marrow & deviled eggs are so good. On the main menu, they are most famous for their burger & their polenta with truffle. If you're in to desserts like me, you MUST order the peanut butter chocolate bites- they are my favorite.

Leo's Oyster House

Another restaurant high on my list for one of the most "instagrammable spots". The decor in this place is likely my favorite in the city. From the palm tree wallpaper, to the pink table tops and gold accents- it's just eclectic and fun. After you wrap your head around decor, get some champagne and oysters. I am super in to fish, so I just hit up the raw bar menu and I leave completely happy.

Pizzeria Delfina

The best pizza in the city by far. I love the thin sliced, fresh pizza that Pizzeria Delfina in the Mission and Pac Heights serves. It's so delicious with so much flavor, I could go all the time. Be sure while you're there to order the meatballs & the prosciutto pizza... you'll thank me later.

Tacolicious

This is a more casual dinner spot, but I frequent this joint. They have the best chips and margaritas in SF. Be sure you hit up one of Tacolicious' 3 locations (Marina, North Beach, Mission) while you're visiting SF. The tacos are to die for, the marina girl salad is tasty and the albacore tostadas are my go-to's.

DRANKS

Tank18

If you haven't been to the SOMA warehouse yet, this place will blow your mind. It's a bottle your own wine bar for just $7.99 a bottle, yes $7.99 you read that right. It's a BYOB (Bring Your Own Bottle) joint, and you can fill it up there & either take home or enjoy it on location with friends. Be sure you check their calendar, because they aren't always serving!

Southern Pacific Brewing Co.

Southern Pacific is my favorite place to go with a group in the Mission. There aren't many spots in the city that you can invite a huge group to, but this is one of the few. It's an awesome place for a birthday party, cool spot to watch a big game, or a place that's perfect to just grab a beer with friends.

Press Club

Need a classy wine night for a date or just to go with a girlfriend. This is the most chic wine bar In Downtown SF I've ever been to. It's huge, so you don't ever feel crammed. Their wine menu is absolutely huge. I usually end up getting a cheese plate and wine when we go to celebrate friends birthdays (or engagements).

The Riddler

The first Champagne bar in SF's Hayes Valley. This is the absolute perfect place to go with a girlfriend to pre-party before the real party. Who doesn't like starting the night (or morning) with a little champagne?

Wine Down SF

Again, this is one of those perfect "instagrammable" spots. The bathroom of this SOMA wine bar is gold from ceiling to floor, there are unicorns on the walls and the decor is to die for. If you're looking for a chill night with a girlfriend sipping wine, this is an awesome spot.

PCH

Need a good date night spot? I got you covered. PCH on Sutter St hasfa such fun and delicious cocktails. My favorites are the swizzle my nizzle (Olmeca Altos Blanco Tequila, passion fruit, vanilla, lime, habanero, bitters) & the city of dawn (Partida Blanco Tequila, fino sherry, watermelon, ancho reyes verde, kaffir lime, citrus, bitters). If you aren't in to tequila, don't worry, that's just me- they have an awesome menu with tons of options.
