Be My Galentine

oh valentine’s day, we meet again. i’m not one to hate on valentine’s day, don’t get me wrong i think it’s an amazing day for couples to get together and share their love. i just think me and most of my friends are in a weird space in our lives where it feels weird. there are so many expectations put on valentine’s day, and so many people end up sad or disappointed. that’s by no means how i want anyone to feel on a day that should be filled with love and appreciation.

i’ve decided to try my best to celebrate my galentine’s this year. let’s be real, i’ve been in a lot of relationships, but there’s never been anyone in my life that has supported and loved me unconditionally like my best girlfriends.

this year (whether you are in a relationship or not), i think it’s so fun to shout your girls out! i remember 3 years ago or so, i had just gotten out of a relationship & my roommate got me the cutest card “cupid is stupid” and it was such a cute slash empowering card to get. she said so many sweet and thoughtful things that made my day- and i still remember the impact it left on me!

i’m going to do my best this year to take the time to reach out to all the important gals that hold it down for me on this holiday! the girls who you love to travel with, cry with, sing with, go out dancing with. the ones who are the first you call when you are sad & the ones you can’t wait to call when something absolutely amazing happens. without my girlfriends, who would know if i would’ve had the confidence to wear that outfit or talk to that guy they forced me to message on bumble.

i am so grateful for my community of strong, smart, supportive and inspiring women. today, let’s cheers to our favorite gals!
